The weight savings come from additive manufacturing. Dead Air 3D prints the internals from Grade 5 6Al-4V titanium, which let their engineers build an enhanced two-stage coaxial baffle system with pressure-harnessing structures that manage everything from soft-shooting subsonics to full-power magnums. That translates to better sound performance than the previous generation while trimming ounces, not adding them. The full-length 8.12 inch body (8.8 inches with the Xeno adapter) gives it the internal volume to take real bite out of centerfire rifle blast, and it's rated all the way up to .300 RUM with a 4400 ft-lb muzzle energy ceiling. The FDE high-temp Cerakote finish keeps it looking right at home on a hunting rig and shrugs off the heat of extended strings.
This package ships ready to run with the DA455 Xeno quick-detach adapter and a DA124 Omni Brake in 5/8-24, so most bolt guns and semi-autos are covered right out of the box. The rear of the can uses the HUB pattern, meaning you can swap to Dead Air's KeyMo or a direct thread mount in seconds if your setup changes down the road. Barrel minimums are 12.5 inches for supersonic 5.56 and 6 inches for subsonic .300 BLK, and it is not full-auto rated, which is a fair trade for a can this light.
