One can for the whole safe. That is the pitch behind the Gemtech Neutron 7.62, and it mostly delivers on it. This .30 caliber suppressor is rated for everything from 5.7x28mm up to .300 Winchester Magnum, and it is full auto rated on top of that. At 6.6 inches long and around 14.6 ounces without the mount, it stays compact and light enough that it will not turn your favorite hunting rifle into a nose-heavy chore, but it still has the guts to hang on a short-barreled gun getting run hard.
Gemtech built the Neutron with a tubeless, laser-welded design that skips the traditional outer tube entirely. Heat-treated 17-4PH stainless steel baffles handle the abuse where the pressure and heat live, while 6AL4V titanium trims mass everywhere else. The wall thickness is beefier than a lot of competing cans, which pays off in long-term durability, and a high-temp black Cerakote finish shrugs off the heat cycles. The stepped baffle geometry slows expanding gas to knock down the report, and it does a genuinely impressive job for a can this short, with less backpressure and gas in your face than plenty of older designs.
The rear of the can is threaded 1.375×24, the industry-standard HUB pattern, so you are not locked into one mounting ecosystem. This model ships with a 5/8×24 direct thread mount installed, which covers most .30 caliber bolt guns and large-frame ARs right out of the box. Want a quick-detach setup later? Swap in a HUB-compatible mount from Gemtech or just about anyone else and keep rolling.
This is the do-most-things can. Deer rifle in November, .300 Blackout SBR at the range in December, 6.5 Creedmoor steel matches in between. If you only want to wait on one tax stamp and cover a whole rack of rifles, the Neutron 7.62 is a smart way to do it.
The Neutron 7.62 is rated for a wide spread of cartridges, from 5.7x28mm up through .300 Winchester Magnum. That covers popular options like .300 Blackout, 7.62×39, .308 Win, 6.5 Creedmoor and 5.56 NATO. Keep in mind Gemtech publishes minimum barrel lengths for each cartridge, so check those before mounting it on a short barrel.
