The whole baffle stack disassembles down to individual baffles with the included front cap tool, and Dead Air's baffle standoff design keeps the stack from bonding to the tube, so you're not fighting carbon lock after a few bricks of bulk ammo. That serviceability is the difference between a suppressor that stays quiet for years and one that slowly turns into a paperweight.
The Mask HD uses a Grade 9 titanium tube wrapped around 17-4 PH stainless steel baffles, which keeps the whole package at 6.6 ounces and 5.1 inches while giving it real durability. It's full-auto rated for .22 LR with no barrel length restrictions, and the 850 ft-lb energy rating covers .22 Mag, 17 HMR, 17 WSM, and 5.7×28 in semi-auto. That last one matters if you own an FN Five-seveN or PS90, since not many rimfire-class suppressors carry that rating. The FDE Cerakote finish adds corrosion resistance and holds up well to the constant threading on and off that rimfire cans see.
First-round pop is the weak spot on a lot of rimfire suppressors, that louder initial report when oxygen inside the can ignites. Dead Air engineered the Mask specifically to minimize it, and it shows on both pistols and rifles. Hang it on a threaded 10/22, a TX22, a bolt gun, whatever you've got with 1/2×28 threads, and it delivers consistent hearing-safe performance from round one. Adapters are available separately for hosts with oddball thread patterns.
There's a reason this can has been a rimfire benchmark for years. It's compact enough for a pistol, light enough that it won't make a sporter-weight .22 rifle nose heavy, and simple enough to maintain that you'll keep it clean instead of dreading it. For plinking, small game, training new folks, or high round-count range days, the Mask HD is one of those buy-once purchases that earns its keep.
The Mask HD is rated for .22 LR, .22 Magnum, 17 HMR, 17 WSM, and 5.7×28, with an 850 ft-lb energy ceiling. It's full-auto rated for .22 LR specifically, while the other calibers are approved for semi-auto use. There are no barrel length restrictions on any host.

Given how dirty .22 LR runs, plan on cleaning it every few hundred to a thousand rounds to keep performance consistent.
It uses a standard 1/2×28 direct thread mount, which covers the vast majority of threaded rimfire barrels like the Ruger 10/22, Mark IV, and Taurus TX22. If your host has a different thread pitch, Dead Air and others make thread adapters to bridge the gap. Just make sure your barrel shoulder is square so the can seats up straight.
Very little, and that's by design. First-round pop happens when oxygen trapped inside the suppressor ignites on the opening shot, and Dead Air engineered the Mask to minimize it on both pistols and rifles. In practice, the first shot sounds nearly identical to everything that follows.
