The heart of the V9 is a 16 inch cold hammer forged barrel in chrome moly vanadium steel with a Government profile, 1:7 twist, and a chrome lined bore that shrugs off high round counts. Every barrel is HP and MPI tested before it leaves Georgia. Pair that with a mid-length gas system and pinned low profile gas block and you get a noticeably softer recoil impulse than a carbine-length gun, which makes fast follow-up shots feel almost easy. The M16 profile bolt carrier group is MP tested with a properly staked gas key, and the muzzle wears Daniel Defense's own flash suppressor over 1/2×28 threads, so swapping muzzle devices or adding a suppressor mount is simple.

The GRIP-N-RIP charging handle works from either side and is designed with suppressed fire in mind, and the safety selector is fully ambidextrous. The buttstock and pistol grip use glass filled polymer with soft touch overmolding, which sounds like marketing speak until you shoulder one and feel the difference. A matching vertical grip comes on the rail from the factory.

No, it ships optic-ready with no sights installed. The upside is the long quad rail gives you a full-length sight radius for iron sights and plenty of room for a red dot, LPVO, or magnifier combo. Any standard AR-15 flip-up sights will mount right to the rail.
Yes. The barrel is threaded 1/2×28, which is the standard pitch for 5.56 muzzle devices and suppressor mounts. The factory flash suppressor can be swapped for the mount your can requires, and the GRIP-N-RIP charging handle is designed with suppressed shooting in mind to help manage gas blowback.
A mid-length system moves the gas port farther down the barrel than a carbine-length setup, which lowers port pressure and smooths out the recoil impulse. In practice that means a softer-shooting rifle that stays flatter during rapid fire and tends to be gentler on internal parts over time.
