.300 Blackout was designed from the start to run in short AR platforms, and the Banshee Mk4 gives it a little more room to breathe than the stubby builds most people picture. The 12.5 inch 4140 chrome moly barrel squeezes extra velocity out of supersonic loads while still cycling heavy subsonics the way the cartridge was intended, and the 5/8×24 threaded muzzle means your suppressor spins right on once you pull the included Zeroed linear compensator. Until then, that comp pushes blast and concussion forward instead of back at you, which your ears and your lane neighbors will appreciate.
CMMG did not cut corners on the small stuff. The Banshee Mk4 comes loaded with the company's American-made Zeroed component line, including a drop-in single stage trigger, 60/90 degree ambidextrous safety, ambi charging handle, ambi mag catch, and an extended mag release button. The Mk4 receiver set is machined from aircraft-grade aluminum, and the EML handguard runs full-length M-LOK slots along the sides and bottom with more M-LOK tucked between the top Picatinny sections, so lights, lasers, and hand stops all have a home. There are no sights on board, which is fine since the uninterrupted top rail is begging for a red dot anyway.
This configuration ships with a standard pistol buffer tube and one 30 round Magpul PMAG, so you can outfit the back end however suits you and feed it with any standard AR-15 magazine you already own. At around 5.4 pounds it stays light enough for truck, home, and range duty without feeling like a toy, and the Armor Black finish keeps the whole package clean and understated. This particular configuration ships with a standard pistol buffer tube only, no brace included. That gives you a blank slate to set up the rear end of the gun however you like. If you want a factory-braced version, CMMG offers other Banshee configurations with their RipBrace installed.
Yes, the 12.5 inch barrel wears standard 5/8×24 muzzle threads, so most .30 caliber suppressors will thread right on after you remove the included linear compensator. .300 Blackout with subsonic loads is one of the quietest suppressed setups you can run in an AR, which is a big part of why this cartridge exists in the first place.
No sights are included on this model. The upper and handguard give you a full-length Picatinny top rail, so mounting a red dot, LPVO, or a set of flip-up iron sights is quick and easy. Most buyers pair a compact pistol like this with a red dot for fast target acquisition.
It runs standard AR-15 pattern magazines, and one 30-round Magpul PMAG comes in the box. Any quality AR-15 mag you already own will work, though dedicated .300 Blackout marked mags are a smart way to keep your ammo clearly separated from 5.56 if you own both calibers.
