The MS version here is the semi-auto pistol configuration, and this particular model runs the 7.62×39 cartridge through a 9.05 inch cold hammer forged barrel with a 5/8×24 threaded muzzle. Why the Bren 2 MS Feels So Light in the Hands

The biggest change from the original Bren is the weight. CZ trimmed down the aluminum upper receiver and molded the lower from carbon fiber-reinforced polymer, bringing this pistol in at 5.46 pounds. That is noticeably lighter than most piston guns in this class, and you feel it the moment you shoulder up on a sling or drive the gun between targets. The short-stroke gas piston system keeps it running clean and consistent, which matters when you are feeding it steel-cased range ammo all afternoon.

Controls That Make Sense on the CZ Bren 2

CZ clearly listened to feedback here. The reciprocating charging handle is gone, replaced with a non-reciprocating handle that swaps to either side and doubles as a forward assist. The bolt catch and release are mirrored on both sides, there is an extra release built into the front of the trigger guard, and the safety and magazine release are ambidextrous and sit right where AR owners expect them. Southpaws get a fully functional gun without any workarounds.
