The Mk47 has been one of the more interesting rifles on the market since CMMG first rolled it out back in 2014, and this Resolute version in Tungsten gray shows why the idea stuck. You get the 7.62×39 cartridge and the AK magazines everyone already owns, paired with the familiar AR manual of arms. Same safety, same mag release location, same modularity. If you grew up on the AR platform but love what the 7.62×39 round brings to the table, this rifle solves that puzzle without asking you to learn a new system.
CMMG built the Mk47 as a mid-size hybrid rather than stuffing the cartridge into a standard AR-15 receiver. It uses beefed-up internals, including CMMG's PowerBolt technology, in a scaled-down package that skips the extra weight of a full AR-10 sized gun. The 14.3 inch medium taper barrel is 4140 chrome moly steel with a salt bath nitride treatment, and the ZEROED SVD-style brake is pinned and welded to bring the barrel to 16.1 inches. That means rifle classification with a shorter, quicker-handling package, and no tax stamp paperwork. At roughly 6.8 pounds, it carries easy and swings fast.
The EML 15 inch handguard gives you M-LOK slots at the 3, 6, 9, and 12 o'clock positions for lights, grips, and sling mounts, with a full-length top rail for optics. CMMG's 6-position RipStock lets you snap the stock out to your length of pull in a hurry, and the whole rifle wears a clean Tungsten gray Cerakote over the receiver, handguard, and stock.
The ZEROED parts list is generous here: a drop-in single stage trigger, ambidextrous 60/90 degree safety, ambi charging handle, pistol grip, and polymer dust cover all come standard. A Magpul 30 round PMAG is included, and CMMG backs the rifle with their Lifetime Quality Guarantee. Rock in a mag and go shoot.
Yes, that is the whole point of the Mk47 platform. It accepts most conventional AK-47 pattern magazines, including steel, polymer, and even drum mags. It ships with a Magpul 30-round PMAG so you can get started right away.
The ZEROED SVD brake is permanently pinned and welded to the muzzle, which brings the total barrel length to 16.1 inches. That configuration counts as a standard rifle barrel, so there is no NFA paperwork or tax stamp involved. You get shorter, handier ergonomics without the wait.
Standard AR-15s in 7.62×39 rely on modified 5.56 magazines that can be finicky with the cartridge's steep case taper. The Mk47 is a purpose-built mid-size platform with a beefier bolt via CMMG's PowerBolt technology and a magwell cut for true AK mags, which feed this round the way it was designed to feed. You get better reliability without stepping up to a heavier AR-10 sized gun.
CMMG includes a full suite of their USA-made ZEROED parts, including a drop-in single stage trigger, an ambidextrous 60/90 degree safety selector, and an ambi charging handle. Lefties and righties both get a rifle that runs comfortably out of the box, and the AR-style layout means no learning curve if you already shoot the platform.
