There's something about an octagon barrel that just looks right on a single action, and the Cimarron Bad Boy leans into it hard. Built on a Pre-War style flat-top frame with a deep blued finish and Army-style walnut grips, it has the lines of a classic six-gun from a century ago. Then you notice the chambering: .44 Remington Magnum. That combination is exactly why this revolver has picked up such a loyal following since Cimarron introduced it back in 2017.
The 6" octagon barrel gives you a long sight radius and enough velocity to make the .44 Mag do its job on deer and hogs, and the flat-top frame carries a fully adjustable target rear sight so you can dial in your hunting load instead of settling for fixed sights. At 49 ounces of solid steel, it soaks up recoil better than you'd expect from a magnum single action, and the plow-handle grip lets the gun roll in your hand the way these revolvers were designed to. When you want lighter practice sessions, it happily digests .44 Special as well, which keeps range time pleasant and affordable.
Cimarron has these built by Uberti in Italy, and the fit and finish shows it. Owners consistently praise the polish on the bluing, the mirror-smooth bore, and a crisp trigger that breaks clean without creep. The action locks up tight and cycles with that satisfying four-click feel single-action fans know well.
This one splits the difference between a working handgun hunter's sidearm and a piece you're proud to show off. It makes a fine woods companion in big-bear country, a capable deer revolver, and a flat-out fun steel-ringer at the range. If you've been wanting magnum performance without giving up traditional single-action character, the CA362 delivers both in one very good-looking package.
Yes. Like any revolver chambered in .44 Remington Magnum, the Bad Boy will safely fire .44 Special as well. That's a nice perk for practice, since Specials run softer on the hand and the wallet while full-power magnums stay in reserve for hunting or field carry.
Cimarron Firearms designs and imports the Bad Boy, with production handled by Uberti in Italy. Uberti has a long reputation for quality single-action revolvers, and owners regularly comment on the excellent fit, polished bluing, and smooth action on this model.
It is. The 6" octagon barrel wrings solid velocity out of the .44 Magnum, and the adjustable target sights on the flat-top frame let you zero for your specific hunting load. Plenty of owners use this revolver for deer and hogs, and its 49-ounce steel frame helps tame magnum recoil in the field.
Yes. Unlike traditional fixed-sight single actions, the Bad Boy is built on a flat-top frame with a fully adjustable target rear sight paired with a target front blade. That means you can fine-tune your point of impact for different bullet weights instead of being stuck with wherever fixed sights happen to print.
