The LA322 Bandit Takedown is Chiappa's answer to a simple question: how small can a lever gun get before it stops being fun? Turns out the answer is 23.6 inches, because this thing is a blast. It is an Italian-built, mare's leg style 22 LR with a 12 inch blued steel barrel, a lightweight alloy receiver, and a shortened wood grip and forend in place of a full buttstock. Working the loop lever on something this compact never gets old, and with 22 LR doing the talking, you can run it all afternoon without wearing out your shoulder or your wallet.
The Bandit splits into two halves using a single large thumb screw on the side of the receiver, and that screw is captured so it stays with the gun instead of disappearing into the grass.
