The Chiappa 1911-22 in OD Green is a purpose-built rimfire pistol, not a converted centerfire or a dressed-up airsoft clone. Chiappa designed it from scratch to replicate the full-size Government 1911 in every way that matters: same overall length at 8.5 inches, same 5-inch barrel, same thumb safety, slide stop, and magazine release in all the right places. The frame, slide, and internal parts are made from Chiappa's proprietary Chiappalloy, a zinc-based alloy with copper and aluminum that gives the pistol realistic heft at around 34 ounces. The barrel itself is tempered steel with a fixed, pinned design that contributes to solid mechanical accuracy.
The OD Green finish on both the frame and slide gives this one a little more personality than a standard blued or black pistol, and the black Hogue rubber grip with finger grooves wraps it up nicely. Hogue grips are a known quantity in the 1911 world, offering a secure, non-slip feel without being aggressive on the hand during extended range sessions.
