Canik took their popular MC9 micro-compact and gave it a little more of everything that matters. The METE MC9LS runs a 3.64 inch barrel under an extended slide, which stretches the sight radius and adds just enough nose weight to settle the muzzle down between shots. If you have ever shot a micro 9 and wished it tracked a bit flatter, this is Canik's answer, and it still keeps a slim 1.12 inch width that carries comfortably inside the waistband all day.
The extended grip gives most hands a full three-finger hold, and an improved beavertail lets you choke up high without slide bite. Three interchangeable backstraps dial in the fit, while the undercut trigger guard and aggressive frame texture keep the gun planted when your palms are sweaty. The slide is cut for popular micro red dots right out of the box, and the fixed 3-dot white sights get the job done if you prefer to run irons. A black nitride finish on the serrated steel slide shrugs off holster wear and moisture, and the front rail accepts compact lights and lasers.
This is where Canik keeps winning people over. Along with two 10-round magazines, the box includes a holster, magazine loader, three backstraps, a punch and tool kit, cleaning brush and jag rod, gun lock, manual, and a hard storage case. Most brands make you buy half of that separately.
The striker-fired action breaks clean with no thumb safety to fumble under stress, just draw and press. At 23.73 ounces unloaded it soaks up 9mm recoil better than most guns its size, so practice sessions stay pleasant instead of punishing. For a carry pistol you will train with regularly, the MC9LS hits a real sweet spot between shootability and concealment.
The MC9LS adds 0.46 inches of barrel over the standard MC9, bringing it to 3.64 inches with a matching extended slide. That means a longer sight radius, a touch more velocity, and noticeably flatter recoil, plus an extended grip and improved beavertail for a fuller hold. It gives up very little in concealability for what you gain at the range.
Yes, the slide comes cut for micro red dots from the factory, so no gunsmithing is needed. It is designed around the popular micro optic footprints used on most compact carry dots, including Canik's own Mecanik optics. If you are not ready for a dot yet, the fixed 3-dot white sights work fine on their own.
No, this version has no external thumb safety. It relies on a trigger safety and internal drop safeties like most modern striker-fired carry pistols, which keeps the draw simple under stress. If you prefer a manual safety, Canik does offer other MC9 variants with one.
Yes, the MC9 platform accepts standard and extended capacity Canik magazines, so you can add higher capacity mags for range use or spares for carry rotation. This model ships with two 10-round magazines, and the included loader makes topping them off a lot easier on the thumbs.
