The Maxus II Upland gives you that classic field gun character with an oil-finished Turkish walnut stock and forearm, a satin nickel-plated receiver with brushed sides and game scene engraving, and a gloss blued 26-inch vent rib barrel. It is the kind of gun that gets noticed at the truck tailgate, but everything underneath is built to work hard in the field.
Browning's Power Drive Gas System is the heart of this gun, and it is tuned to run a wide spread of loads while soaking up a surprising amount of recoil. Pair that with the Inflex 2 recoil pad and you get one of the softest-shooting gas guns in its class, which means less muzzle jump and quicker second shots when a covey flushes wild. The Lightning Trigger delivers a fast lock time, and the back-bored barrel works with the included Invector-Plus choke tubes to keep patterns even and consistent. Smart touches carry over throughout: a nickel PTFE coating on the bolt, bolt slide, and carrier for corrosion resistance and easy cleanup, an oversized bolt handle and release you can run with gloves on, and the Speed Load Plus system that feeds the first shell straight from the magazine into the chamber.
At around 7 pounds with a 3-inch chamber and a 4+1 capacity on 2.75-inch shells, this Maxus II carries well through CRP grass and swings naturally on crossing birds. The close radius grip fills the hand nicely, and the stock is shim-adjustable for length of pull, cast, and drop, so you can tune the fit instead of adapting to it. A fiber-optic front sight and ivory mid-bead give you a clean, fast sight picture in low morning light. Browning ships it with Full, Modified, and Improved Cylinder chokes and a hard case, so it is ready for the field right out of the box.
