The Cynergy has always been Browning's forward-thinking over/under, and the CX version is the crossover build meant to handle any clay game you throw at it. The heart of the design is the MonoLock Hinge, which merges the monobloc and hinge into one piece with up to 300 percent more pivot surface than traditional trunnion setups. That is what lets Browning keep the receiver profile so low, putting your hands closer to the bore line for a flatter, more controlled swing. Rectangular locking pins with a wear-in relief keep the action locked up tight even after years of heavy league shooting.
This 12 gauge wears a 32 inch matte blued barrel with ventilated top and side ribs, ivory front and mid-bead sights, and a 60/40 point of impact that splits the difference between a flat sporting gun and a high-shooting trap gun. Back-bored barrels, Vector Pro lengthened forcing cones, and chrome plated 3 inch chambers help tame recoil and smooth out patterns, and you get three extended Midas grade Invector-Plus chokes (Full, Modified, Improved Cylinder) to cover everything from close incomers to long crossers. The Reverse Striker ignition system delivers a crisp mechanical trigger with fast lock time and minimal overtravel, while Impact Ejectors kick fired hulls clear with real authority.
The Grade I walnut stock carries a clean satin finish and pairs nicely with the engraved silver nitride steel receiver. At 8 pounds with a 14 1/4 inch length of pull, it swings steady on long targets without beating you up, and the Inflex recoil pad soaks up a full day of registered shooting. A quarter inch stock spacer is included so you can tweak the fit. Plenty of folks put a thousand-plus rounds through these without a hiccup, and the fit and finish holds up to what you would expect from a Browning over/under. If you want one gun for trap on Tuesday, skeet on Thursday, and a dove field in September, the Cynergy CX makes a strong case for itself.
All three, which is the whole point of the CX. The 60/40 point of impact sits between a flat-shooting field gun and a high-shooting dedicated trap gun, so it works across every clay discipline. The 32 inch barrel adds the smooth, steady swing that helps on trap and long sporting targets.
It ships with three extended Midas grade chokes in Full, Modified, and Improved Cylinder. The barrels are threaded for Browning's Invector-Plus system, so any Invector-Plus choke will fit if you want to add constrictions later. That gives you a huge aftermarket to choose from.

Between the 8 pound weight, back-bored barrels, Vector Pro forcing cones, and the Inflex recoil pad, felt recoil is very manageable even over a long day of shooting. It is a gun you can run hundreds of rounds through in a weekend comfortably.
