The Citori CXS is what happens when Browning builds one gun to do the work of two. It carries target-gun dimensions and a 50/50 point of impact, so the bird flies right on top of your bead the same way every time, whether that bird is orange clay or a flushing rooster. This 12 gauge version wears 32 inch barrels, the length a lot of serious sporting clays folks gravitate toward for the smooth, deliberate swing it gives you on long crossers.
At around 7 pounds 14 ounces, there is enough weight between your hands to keep the muzzle moving without feeling sluggish, and that heft also takes real sting out of a long day of shooting. Back-bored barrels and Vector Pro lengthened forcing cones smooth out recoil and tighten patterns, while the flat floating rib with an ivory front bead and mid bead keeps your eye lined up shot after shot. The three included Midas grade extended Invector-Plus chokes (Full, Modified, Improved Cylinder) cover everything from close skeet birds to distant teal presentations, and you can swap them by hand thanks to the extended design.
Underneath the Grade II gloss walnut and high polish blued steel is the same action that has kept Citoris in the family for generations. The full width tapered locking bolt actually seats deeper as the gun wears in, so lockup stays tight through tens of thousands of rounds. Chrome plated chambers shrug off heavy use, automatic ejectors kick out spent hulls, and the Triple Trigger system lets you adjust length of pull across three positions to fine tune your fit. A large Inflex recoil pad and gold plated trigger round out a package that looks as good in the rack as it performs on the course.

It's built to do both, which is the whole idea behind the CXS. The dimensions and 50/50 point of impact are set up for sporting clays and skeet, but the balance and handling carry over nicely to upland hunting. Plenty of owners run one gun for the course and the field.
It ships with three extended Invector-Plus Midas grade chokes: Full, Modified, and Improved Cylinder. The extended design lets you change them by hand without a wrench. That spread covers most clays presentations and typical upland distances, and additional Invector-Plus tubes are widely available if you want to fill in the gaps.
Longer barrels give you a longer sight plane and a smoother, more stable swing, which is why the 32 inch length is a favorite for sporting clays. If you shoot mostly skeet or plan to carry the gun hunting all day, a shorter barrel handles a bit quicker. For dedicated clays work, the 32 inch is hard to beat.
Yes. The Triple Trigger system lets you move the trigger shoe between three positions to fine tune length of pull. Combined with the 14 3/4 inch factory length of pull and the large Inflex recoil pad, most folks can get a comfortable fit without a trip to the gunsmith.
