Description
The Citori has been earning its keep for over 50 years, and this Composite version answers a question a lot of hunters have been asking: why can't I get that legendary Citori action in a stock I don't have to baby? Browning finally delivered. You get the same engraved steel receiver, full-width hinge pin, and tapered locking bolt that made the Citori a fixture at gun clubs everywhere, wrapped in a black synthetic stock and forearm that shrug off rain, mud, and boat rides. Rubber overmolding at the grip and forearm keeps things planted when your hands are cold and wet, which is exactly when it matters.
Fit That Adjusts to You, Not the Other Way Around
The composite stock brought a nice bonus with it. Since Browning wasn't limited by wood dimensions, they slimmed the grip areas to fit a wider range of hands, and the adjustable comb lets you dial in cheek weld until the ivory front bead and mid bead line up naturally every time you mount the gun. An Inflex II recoil pad takes the sting out of long days at the range, and the 60/40 point of impact splits the difference nicely between rising clays and flushing birds.
Citori Composite Barrel Performance
The 30" barrels carry Browning's full Total Barrel Dynamics treatment: back-bored bores, Vector Pro lengthened forcing cones, and the Invector-Plus choke system, with Full, Modified, and Improved Cylinder tubes in the box. Chrome-plated 3" chambers handle steel shot and heavy waterfowl loads without complaint, and hammer ejectors kick spent hulls clear so you can reload fast when the birds are working.
At around 7.5 pounds with that classic between-the-hands Citori balance, this gun swings smooth and soaks up recoil better than lighter field guns. It's the over/under for someone who wants one gun that does it all, from September doves to January greenheads to Saturday morning sporting clays.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can the Browning Citori Composite handle steel shot for waterfowl?
Yes. The barrels are rated for steel shot and feature chrome-plated 3" chambers along with Browning's Total Barrel Dynamics, including back-boring and Vector Pro lengthened forcing cones. Pair it with the Modified choke and heavy steel loads and it makes a very capable duck and goose gun.
How does the adjustable comb on the Citori Composite work?
The comb piece raises and lowers on posts so you can fine-tune where your eye sits relative to the rib. Getting the comb height right means the gun shoots where you look without needing to consciously aim, which pays off on fast crossers and flushing birds alike. It's a feature usually reserved for pricier target guns.
Is the Citori Composite better suited for hunting or clays?
It genuinely does both well. The 30" barrels and roughly 7.5 pound weight give it the smooth, stable swing clay shooters want, while the weather-resistant composite stock and steel-rated barrels make it at home in a wet duck blind or dusty dove field. The 60/40 point of impact is a nice middle ground for both games.
What choke tubes come with this Citori, and can I add more?
It ships with three flush-fit Invector-Plus tubes: Full, Modified, and Improved Cylinder. That covers most field and target situations out of the box. The Invector-Plus system is one of the most widely supported choke platforms out there, so extended and specialty tubes from Browning and aftermarket makers are easy to find.
