There's a reason the Citori name keeps showing up wherever upland birds and clay targets are involved. The 825 Field is the newest chapter in a line that traces straight back to John Browning's B25 Superposed, and it keeps the traits that made those guns famous: quick to the shoulder, natural to point, and smooth through the swing. The full-width hinge pin and tapered locking lug lockup is the same proven design that has kept Citoris running for generations, so this is a gun you can shoot hard for decades and hand down when you're done.
The biggest upgrade over the outgoing 725 is the Fire Lite 2 mechanical trigger, which delivers lighter, crisper pulls and fires the second barrel without relying on recoil to reset. Browning also reshaped the top lever and barrel selector safety for easier handling with cold or gloved hands, and even enlarged the forearm latch lever so takedown is less of a thumb workout. The low-profile receiver drops the bore line closer to your hands, which tames muzzle rise and helps you stay on target for the follow-up shot.
The 28-inch polished blued barrels are back-bored with Vector Pro lengthened forcing cones and regulated for a 50/50 point of impact, exactly what you want for flushing birds and crossing targets. A ventilated top rib wears an ivory front bead and mid bead, and the 3-inch chambers give you plenty of flexibility on loads. Three Invector-DS choke tubes come in the box, and their double-seal design uses a brass band at the base to keep fouling out of the threads.
The Grade II/III black walnut stock wears a gloss oil finish that shows off the figure in the wood, and the silver nitride receiver features game scene engraving that dresses the gun up without going overboard. An Inflex II recoil pad takes the sting out of a long day of shooting. At roughly 7 pounds 5 ounces, it carries well in the field but has enough weight to swing smoothly on the clays course.

It uses Browning's Invector-DS choke system and ships with Full, Modified, and Improved Cylinder tubes. The DS stands for Double Seal, and each tube has a brass seal at the base that keeps powder fouling from creeping into the choke threads. A wide range of additional Invector-DS constrictions is available if you want to expand your setup.
Yes, the chambers are 3 inches, so it will run everything from light 2 3/4-inch target loads up to 3-inch magnum hunting loads. The Invector-DS chokes are rated for steel shot, though as with any shotgun, avoid shooting steel through the Full choke and stick to more open constrictions for hard shot.
