This 26 inch barreled 12 gauge weighs in at just 6 pounds 2 ounces thanks to a low profile aluminum alloy receiver, and Browning didn't cut corners to get there. A steel breech face and full-width steel hinge pin handle the stress of firing, so you get the weight savings without giving up the durability the Citori name is known for.
The straight grip stock and Schnabel forearm keep the gun trim between the hands, and the Grade II/III black walnut with its gloss oil finish looks the part of a proper field gun. The 725's low profile receiver sits your eye closer to the bore axis, which is a big reason these guns point so naturally when a grouse or quail flushes with no warning. An ivory bead up front and chrome-plated chambers round out a setup that's clearly meant for real hunting, not just the gun rack.
The Fire Lite mechanical trigger gives you a crisp, light pull, and because it's mechanical rather than inertia-driven, your second barrel fires even if the first shell doesn't recoil the gun. That matters more than you'd think with light field loads. Browning's Total Barrel Dynamics and Vector Pro lengthened forcing cones help keep patterns even, and the included Invector-DS flush chokes in Full, Modified, and Improved Cylinder cover everything from close-flushing woodcock to late-season pheasants.

The 12 gauge model with 26 inch barrels weighs 6 pounds 2 ounces, making it the lightest field gun in the Citori 725 lineup. The weight savings comes from the aluminum alloy receiver, while a steel breech face and hinge pin keep the action strong where it counts.
It ships with three Invector-DS flush choke tubes: Full, Modified, and Improved Cylinder. The Invector-DS system pairs with Browning's lengthened Vector Pro forcing cones to deliver consistent, even patterns, and additional constrictions are widely available if you want to fine-tune for a specific bird or load.
It uses Browning's Fire Lite mechanical trigger system. That means the second barrel is ready to fire regardless of whether the first shot generated enough recoil to set an inertia block, which is a real advantage when shooting light field loads. The pull itself is crisp and light, one of the better factory triggers you'll find on a production over/under.
A lighter gun does transfer more felt recoil than a heavy target gun, so this one is happiest with standard 2-3/4 inch field loads rather than heavy magnum shells. For typical upland loads it's very manageable, and the easy carry weight is a trade most bird hunters gladly make after a few miles of walking.
