The Citori CXT White is what happens when Browning builds a trap gun that refuses to stay in one lane. The 70/30 point of impact puts your pattern where rising trap targets live, but this is still a crossover at heart, happy to break skeet and sporting clays birds when the mood strikes. The 32" barrels give you a long, smooth sighting plane with a wide floating rib and ivory front and mid beads that make it easy to check your eye alignment before you call for the bird.
Underneath the good looks is the same Citori action that traces its lineage back to John Browning's Superposed. The full width hinge pin and tapered locking lug keep the action tight through tens of thousands of rounds, which is exactly what you want in a gun that lives at the club. The silver nitride receiver resists corrosion and gives the gun its signature look against the polished blued barrels. Vector Pro lengthened forcing cones and chrome plated chambers round out the barrel work, and the three extended Invector-Plus Midas grade choke tubes let you tighten or open your patterns as the yardage changes.
The Monte Carlo stock is cut from gloss finished Grade II American black walnut with 18 LPI checkering, and the raised comb keeps your head up and your eye locked on the rib without scrunching down into the stock. Browning's Inflex 2 recoil pad directs the comb down and away from your face under recoil, which your cheek will appreciate by the third round of a long shoot. At 8 pounds 4 ounces with a 14 3/8" length of pull, it has enough weight to swing smoothly and soak up recoil without feeling like a boat anchor.
If you want one over under that handles league night on Wednesday and a sporting clays course on Saturday, this is a hard package to argue with. It shoots flat, it swings true, and it looks the part doing it.
It leans trap thanks to the 70/30 point of impact and Monte Carlo stock, but Browning built it as a crossover. Plenty of owners run it for skeet and sporting clays too, and with three choke tubes included you can set it up for whatever game you're shooting that day. If you only want to buy one clay gun, that flexibility is the whole point of the CXT line.
It means roughly 70 percent of your pattern prints above the point of aim and 30 percent below. That works well for trap because targets are almost always rising when you break them, so you can float the bird just above the bead instead of covering it up. It's a comfortable middle ground between a flat-shooting field gun and a dedicated high-post trap gun.
It comes in at 8 pounds 4 ounces, which is right in the sweet spot for a target gun. That weight, combined with the Inflex 2 recoil pad that directs the comb down and away from your cheek, keeps 12 gauge target loads very manageable over long practice sessions. Most people find it noticeably softer shooting than a lighter field gun.
This CXT White ships with three extended Midas grade Invector-Plus choke tubes in Full, Improved Modified, and Modified, plus a T-wrench for swapping them. The Invector-Plus system is one of the most widely supported choke platforms out there, so aftermarket options are easy to find if you want to add tighter or more open constrictions later.
