Underneath the Grade V/VI oil-finished walnut and the gold-accented, broad-coverage engraving sits the same Citori action that has earned its reputation over decades: a full-width tapered locking bolt and a hinge pin that runs clear across the receiver. The taper lets the bolt seat a little deeper as the years go by, so the action stays tight through tens of thousands of rounds. Built by Miroku in Japan, the fit and finish on these guns is consistently excellent, with wood-to-metal fit that will make you look twice.
The rounded knob grip and matching rounded forearm are what make this a Lightning. That open, rounded profile puts your trigger hand in the same spot every single mount, which pays off when a grouse flushes at your feet or a crossing pair shows up on the skeet field. At 6 pounds 15 ounces with 28 inch barrels, this 20 gauge carries all day without complaint and still has enough weight up front to keep your swing smooth instead of whippy. An Inflex recoil pad takes the edge off, though a 20 gauge at this weight is already pleasant to run through a full flat of shells.
The high-polish blued barrels are back-bored and chambered for 3 inch shells, with chrome-plated chambers that shrug off heavy use. Browning includes three Midas grade Invector-Plus extended choke tubes in Full, Modified, and Improved Cylinder, which covers everything from tight late-season shots to close-in quail work. A ventilated rib with ivory front and mid-bead sights keeps your eye lined up naturally, and the single selective trigger with top-tang barrel selector lets you pick which choke fires first.

It ships with three Midas grade Invector-Plus extended choke tubes: Full, Modified, and Improved Cylinder, plus a flat choke wrench. The extended design makes swaps quick without tools at the range, and the Invector-Plus system works together with the back-bored barrels for even patterns. Additional constrictions are widely available if you want to fill out the set.
That is exactly where it shines. At just under 7 pounds with 28 inch barrels, it carries comfortably on long upland walks but still swings smoothly enough for sporting clays and skeet. The 3 inch chambers give you flexibility for heavier hunting loads when the season calls for it.
Like all Citori shotguns, the Gran Lightning is built for Browning by the Miroku factory in Japan. Miroku has been producing Citoris for decades and the quality of machining, bluing, and wood-to-metal fit is a big part of why these guns hold their value so well. It is a proven pedigree, not a budget shortcut.
The Gran Lightning steps up to Grade V/VI walnut with an oil finish, broad-coverage receiver engraving with gold accents, and Midas grade extended choke tubes instead of flush chokes.
