It shrinks John Browning's most famous design down to roughly 85 percent scale and chambers it in his own .380 ACP cartridge, giving you a full grip, a real sight radius, and recoil so mild it borders on pleasant. This is a true single action 1911 at heart, with a Commander-style hammer, flat mainspring housing, extended beavertail grip safety, and an ambidextrous extended thumb safety. The 4.25 inch barrel rides under a machined stainless steel slide with a satin finish and rear serrations, sitting on a matte black composite frame reinforced with a machined 7075 aluminum sub-frame. Checkered composite grips and a checkered front strap keep your hand planted, and the steel three-dot combat sights are a genuine upgrade over the plastic sights found on a lot of guns in this class. A Picatinny accessory rail up front handles a light or laser if that's your thing.

It's built at roughly 85 percent of the scale of a full-size Government Model 1911. That means all the controls, the grip angle, and the manual of arms feel familiar, just in a smaller and much lighter package. It comes with fixed steel three-dot combat sights, which is a nice upgrade over the polymer sights common on many .380 pistols. The white dots give a quick, clean sight picture, and the longer slide provides a better sight radius than compact .380s, which helps with practical accuracy.
