Beretta took the compact APX A1 platform and set it up the way a lot of us would build one ourselves. The APX A1 Compact Tactical pairs a 4.2 inch barrel with a 1/2×28 threaded muzzle, so your suppressor or muzzle device spins right on without a trip to the gunsmith. The slide is cut for red dots and works with all the major MRDS footprints, and the blacked-out suppressor-height irons are tall enough to co-witness through an optic or clear a can. It all comes wrapped in a Flat Dark Earth finish with black hardware, and three 15-round magazines are in the box from day one.
The APX line came out of Beretta's work on military trials, and that DNA shows. The full-length slide serrations are some of the most aggressive in the business, which makes racking the slide easy even with sweaty hands or an optic mounted. The grip comes with small, medium, and large interchangeable backstraps so you can dial in the fit, and the extended beavertail lets you get a high grip that keeps the muzzle flatter through recoil. The trigger has a clean break with a short, tactile reset that makes fast follow-up shots feel natural.
