AREX out of Slovenia doesn't get as much shelf space as the big names, but the Delta X Tact Gen2 is the kind of pistol that makes a real impression once people actually handle one. This is a full-size striker-fired 9mm built for serious use, whether that's duty carry, home defense, competition, or running a suppressor setup. The 4.60" barrel is threaded 1/2×28, so it's ready for a muzzle device right out of the box, and the slide is already cut for a miniature red dot.
The optics system is one of the more thoughtful parts of the package. Five standardized mounting plates are included, covering a wide range of popular red dot footprints including Trijicon RMR, Holosun, Vortex, Shield, Leupold DeltaPoint Pro, and others. The slide also ships with high-profile metal sights that stay usable even with a suppressor or compensator attached, so you're not left hunting for suppressor-height irons as an afterthought.
One of the more unique things about the Delta platform is the trigger. AREX calls it a double-action striker system, and the distinction matters. The striker spring is only partially compressed when the slide cycles, so the trigger pull itself completes the cocking and then fires the shot. The result is a longer, more deliberate pull compared to a fully pre-cocked striker gun, which a lot of people actually prefer for a duty or defensive platform.
The modular frame design is genuinely practical. Removable front and rear inserts house the slide rails and fire control group, and only the front insert carries the serial number. That means non-serialized components can be swapped or replaced without any paperwork complications. Four interchangeable backstraps let you fit the grip to your hand, and all controls, including the mag release and slide stop, are fully ambidextrous. The extended mag release button on the Tactical model was a direct response to user feedback on earlier Delta variants.
The pistol ships with two steel magazines, one 17-round and one 19-round, five optic mounting plates, and four backstraps. The steel slide wears a black nitride finish, the polymer frame features an aggressive stippled texture on all four sides, and there's a full-length Picatinny rail up front for lights and accessories.
The barrel is threaded at 1/2×28, which is the standard thread pitch for 9mm suppressors and muzzle devices in the US market. That means you can mount most commercially available 9mm cans or compensators without needing an adapter. The Tactical model also ships with raised suppressor-height sights so your sight picture stays clear with a device attached.
The Delta X Tact Gen2 comes with five mounting plates that cover a wide range of popular footprints, including Trijicon RMR, Holosun, Vortex, Burris, Shield, Leupold DeltaPoint Pro, and others. You pick the plate that matches your optic and bolt it down directly to the slide cut. It's a low-profile setup that keeps the optic sitting close to the bore axis for a natural sight picture.
It's a bit different from what you'd find on a Glock or M&P. AREX uses a double-action striker system where the slide only partially cocks the striker, and the trigger completes the cocking and releases the shot. The pull is longer and more deliberate than a fully pre-cocked striker gun, which many people find reassuring on a duty or defensive pistol. Reset is tactile and fairly short once you're past that initial take-up.

Yes, both the slide stop and the magazine release are fully ambidextrous. The Tactical variant ships with an extended magazine release button for right-handed use, and a left-handed button is also included in the box so southpaw operators can swap it over easily. Four interchangeable backstraps are also included to help fit the grip to different hand sizes.
