The AmeriGlo XD191 is the sight set a lot of XD owners reach for when they're ready to ditch the factory irons. It's a true 3-dot night sight setup: one green tritium lamp in the front and two in the rear, each wrapped in a bright white outline. That combo gives you fast, glowing reference in the dark and crisp white rings you can pick up quick in daylight, so your aiming point stays consistent no matter what the lighting is doing.
These aren't stamped plastic. Each sight is machined from bar-stock steel and assembled with Swiss-made tritium, which is the same self-luminous source trusted by law enforcement and military users for decades. The tritium glows on its own with no batteries and no charging, so you can pull the pistol out of a nightstand or holster and the dots are already lit. The finish is a matte black that cuts glare instead of bouncing light back at your eye.
The set covers a wide swath of the XD family, fitting Springfield Armory XD, XD-M, and XD-S models. Note that OSP (optics-ready) slides are the exception here. The front blade measures .140 inches wide and the rear runs a .150-inch square notch, which is a balanced spec that gives you a clean sight picture without crowding the front dot. That squared notch also lends itself well to defensive and duty use where speed matters.
Both sights are dovetail-mounted, so installation is a straightforward press or drift job with the right tools. Plenty of folks have a gunsmith knock these in and zero them, and it's worth doing if you want them dead-on out of the gate. Once they're set, you've got a rugged, glow-in-the-dark sight picture that holds zero across every lighting condition you'll run into.
Yes. This set is designed to fit across the Springfield XD, XD-M, and XD-S lineup. The one exception is OSP optics-ready models, which use a different slide cut, so those won't work with this set.
No batteries and no charging required. The green glow comes from self-luminous tritium, which produces its own light around the clock. That means the dots are lit and ready the moment you draw, even after sitting untouched.
All three dots are green tritium, with the front sight carrying one lamp and the rear carrying two. Each one is ringed with a white outline, so you also get bright reference points in daylight, not just in the dark.
Both the front and rear are dovetail-mounted, so they can be pressed or drifted in with a proper sight tool or pusher. Many owners have a gunsmith handle the install and confirm zero, which is the easiest way to make sure they're centered and shooting to point of aim.
