Built for serious everyday carry, the 1791 Gunleather Heavy Duty OWB Action Snap holster keeps your multitool secure and accessible. Handcrafted from full-grain American leather, this holster combines rugged construction with the straightforward functionality you need in a working tool.
The action snap closure works reliably without fussing. Your tool stays put through demanding work while remaining quick to draw when you need it. The snaps are engineered to last and will develop a broken-in feel that just gets better over time. The belt loop mount is equally no-nonsense, fitting belts up to 1.5" wide and working without any special setup or adjustments.
1791 starts with certified American heavy native steerhide, the kind of material that breaks in rather than wears out. The leather is thick enough to hold its shape and support your carry method, yet flexible enough to work comfortably against your side. Hand-finished edges give it a polished look despite the utilitarian purpose. The stitching is reinforced at stress points, which matters when your holster is carrying weight all day.
The large sizing accommodates multitools up to 1.6" wide, covering most full-size platforms like Leatherman Surge, OHT, and equivalent Gerber or SOG models. The ambidextrous design means you wear it on whichever side works for your daily needs. Pair it with other belt gear without bulk or interference, or use it solo depending on your setup. Whether you're on a job site, in a truck, or just carrying every day, this holster stays out of the way until you actually need your tool.
The large model fits multitools up to 1.6 inches wide, which covers most full-size platforms including Leatherman Surge, OHT, MUT, and equivalent Gerber and SOG tools. The holster is built as a single-tool carry, so it's designed for one primary multitool.
The snap mechanism sits over the tool and snaps securely to create positive retention. It's designed to stay closed during movement and work but releases easily when you need your tool. The leather and snaps break in with use, developing a smoother, more predictable feel.
Yes, the ambidextrous design lets you carry on either left or right side depending on your preference or how you dress. It works equally well as a standalone carry or paired with other belt-mounted gear like a second holster or pouch.
New 1791 holsters are intentionally made with stiff leather that holds shape well. The break-in period typically ranges from a few days to a couple of weeks depending on use. Many users wrap their tool in wax paper or a freezer bag and leave it seated overnight to speed up the process. The leather will gradually soften and conform to your tool while maintaining excellent support.
