It pairs sharp 10X optics with a laser-etched glass reticle graduated in 0.005" increments, letting you check dimensions right where the scale contacts the work. The 8 built-in LEDs ring the viewing area so you get clean, shadow-free light on whatever you're inspecting, which matters a lot when you're peering into a chamber or reading marks on dark steel.
Think throat and chamber inspection, thread pitch checks, measuring radii and angles, sizing small holes, and spotting tool marks, pitting, or wear you'd never catch with the naked eye. The optics are distortion free with fine resolution, and the focus adjusts so you can dial in a crisp image on parts of different heights. With a 1-1/4" viewing area and a 34mm reticle, you get a generous window to work through.
The scale is photo-etched into glass and sits in direct contact with the part, so the measurement and the object magnify together for an accurate read. The #2 reticle that comes standard covers length, diameter, radii, angles, pitch, and thickness measurement.
