Yankee Hill Machine built the sRx system around a simple idea: keep the mount short, keep it clean, and skip the parts that wear out. The sRx Short Flash Hider is the muzzle-end half of that equation. It threads onto your 5/8×24 barrel like any standard birdcage, but the tapered mounting surface ahead of the threads is where it earns its keep. When you spin a suppressor fitted with the sRx adapter onto it, that taper wedges everything together into a tight lockup that also seals out gas and carbon. No fouled threads, no ratchet teeth, no springs or levers to fuss with.
At just 1.81 inches long and 0.75 inches in diameter, this thing barely announces itself on the barrel. There is nothing to time and no shims to stack, so installation is about as painless as muzzle devices get, and you can even pin and weld it if your build calls for it. With the can off, it still does its day job as a flash hider, taming muzzle flash on your .308 or other 5/8×24 threaded rifle. Machined from 4140 steel with a black phosphate finish, it is built to shrug off heat and hard use round after round.
One thing to know before you order: this flash hider is one half of a two-piece system. It has to be matched with the YHM sRx Adapter (YHM-4400), which threads into any suppressor with an industry standard 1-3/8×24 HUB mount. That opens the door to a huge range of cans, not just YHM models. Once the adapter is in your suppressor, mounting and dismounting takes seconds, and the taper gives you the same consistent lockup every time. If you have multiple hosts, grab a flash hider for each barrel and swap one can across all of them without a hitch.

The adapter threads into any suppressor with a standard 1-3/8×24 HUB mount, and then your can quick-attaches to this flash hider. Without the adapter, it still functions as a regular 5/8×24 flash hider, but you lose the quick-detach capability.
As long as your suppressor uses the industry standard 1-3/8×24 HUB thread pattern, you are in business. The sRx adapter installs into the HUB mount, and from there it locks onto this flash hider regardless of who made the can. That is one of the biggest draws of the sRx lineup, since it does not tie you to a single brand's ecosystem.
No, and that is a big part of the appeal. The design does not require timing to the barrel, so there are no shims or crush washers to mess with. Just thread it on and torque it down. It can also be permanently attached to the barrel if your build calls for a pin and weld.
The large taper sits in front of the mounting threads and does two jobs. First, it wedges the suppressor into a consistent, repeatable lockup with no moving parts to wear out. Second, it seals the joint so hot gas and carbon cannot bake onto the threads, which keeps removal easy even after long range sessions.
