The XS Sights R3D 2.0 is a purpose-built upgrade for the Smith & Wesson Equalizer, swapping in a sighting system that's brighter, tougher, and easier to see when the light drops. The front sight pairs a Swiss-made tritium vial with XS's photoluminescent Ember Glow Dot, so it soaks up ambient light and stays vibrant in daylight while the tritium keeps glowing on its own in no-light conditions. That green front dot measures 0.145 inches wide, which is broader than a lot of factory posts, and it gives your eye something easy to grab in a hurry.
Out back, the rear sight goes serrated and blacked-out to cut glare and pull your focus toward the front dot where it belongs. It carries two tritium lamps ringed in black PVC for a cleaner, more defined edge, and the rear tritium is intentionally kept dimmer than the front so the front sight never gets outshined. The 0.170-inch wide rear notch leaves plenty of daylight on either side of the post for fast, clean alignment in poor lighting.
These are CNC machined from solid steel bar stock and finished in BlackNitride, which XS says holds up to corrosion about 50 percent better than the old black oxide treatment. That's a real advantage for a carry gun that rides against your body through sweaty summers. The big quality-of-life change is EasyPress technology: a lead-in edge and crush zone on the underside of the rear sight cut the installation force by roughly half, so you can seat them with a proper sight pusher without filing.
The green tritium is backed by a 12-year warranty, so you're set for a long stretch of dependable low-light visibility. For anyone running an Equalizer as an everyday carry or nightstand gun, this is a straightforward way to get a serious sight picture upgrade.
Yes, this set (part number SW-R207P-6G) is cut specifically for the S&W Equalizer platform. It replaces both the front and rear factory sights. Always confirm your slide is a standard Equalizer before ordering.
The tritium is backed by a 12-year warranty and will glow on its own in low or no light for that span. Keep in mind tritium naturally dims over its life, which is normal. The green photoluminescent Glow Dot up front also charges off ambient light to boost daytime contrast.
You can if you have the right tools. XS built in EasyPress technology with a lead-in edge and crush zone that cuts the required install force by about half and eliminates filing. A proper sight pusher is the recommended way to seat them, though a hammer and punch will also work if you're careful.
The rear is serrated and blacked out to reduce glare and drive your focus to the front dot. Its 0.170-inch wide notch leaves plenty of light on both sides of the front post for quick alignment. The two rear tritium lamps are kept dimmer than the front so they never wash out your aiming point.
