Description
The R3D 2.0 is the second generation of XS Sights' popular notch-and-post tritium setup, and it hits a sweet spot a lot of Glock owners are after: taller irons that clear a suppressor or co-witness with a red dot, plus front-sight visibility that works in bright sun and pitch black. The front blade combines a 0.145-inch post with an orange photoluminescent Glow Dot ringing a Swiss-made tritium lamp. That Glow Dot soaks up ambient light and stays lit in low light, while the tritium keeps glowing on its own for years with no batteries involved. In daylight the orange dot pops and pulls your eye straight to the front sight, which is exactly what you want when things get fast.
What Makes the R3D 2.0 Different From the First Version
XS reworked the rear on this generation. It runs two tritium vials that are larger and brighter than the original R3D rear, so your three-dot alignment reads clearly even in total darkness. The rear face is serrated and treated with an anti-reflective lens to cut glare in bright light, and the angled corners help it clear a holster without snagging on the draw. There's also a ledge on the rear that lets you rack the slide one-handed off a belt or boot heel in a pinch.
Suppressor Height Fit and Optic Compatibility
This set fits a wide range of standard-frame Glocks including the 17, 19, 22, 23, 24, 26, 27, 31 through 36, 38, 39, 45, and 47 across Gen 1-5 and MOS models. The taller blades are built to co-witness as backup irons on MOS and A-CUT pistols, and XS has confirmed compatibility with optics like the Trijicon RMR and SRO, the Holosun 507c series, and the Vortex Viper.
Built to Ride Every Day
Both sights are machined from steel in Fort Worth, Texas, and finished in Black Nitride, which XS rates at roughly double the corrosion resistance of the old black oxide coating. That matters for a carry or duty gun that lives against your body in heat and sweat. The dovetail was also redesigned with a lead-in edge and crush zone that cuts installation force by about half, so a home gunsmith with a proper sight pusher will have an easier time than with the first-gen sets.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will the R3D 2.0 suppressor height sights co-witness with my red dot?
Yes, that's a big part of why these are built taller than standard sights. On MOS and A-CUT Glocks they're designed to sit in the lower portion of the optic window as backup irons, and XS has confirmed compatibility with optics like the Trijicon RMR and SRO, the Holosun 507c series, and the Vortex Viper. The low-profile blades keep the view clean while still giving you irons if the dot ever goes down.
What Glock models does this set fit?
This fits a wide spread of standard-frame Glocks including the 17, 19, 22, 23, 24, 26, 27, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 36, 38, 39, 45, and 47. It covers Gen 1 through Gen 5 as well as MOS models. It is not the set for the smaller 42, 43, 43X, or 48 slides, which use a different part number.
Why go with the orange front dot over green?
The orange Glow Dot tends to stand out sharply against most backgrounds and targets, and many shooters find it easier to pick up quickly in daylight than green. Both colors use the same tritium and photoluminescent tech under the hood, so the difference is really about which color your eye grabs fastest. It comes down to personal preference, but orange is a popular pick for exactly that reason.
Can I install the R3D 2.0 sights myself?
You can if you've got the right tools. XS redesigned the dovetail with a lead-in edge and crush zone that cuts installation force by about half compared to the first-gen R3D, which makes life easier for the DIY crowd. You'll still want a proper rear sight pusher and a front sight tool to do the job right, so if you don't have those, having a gunsmith press them in is a smart move.
