Left-handed hunters usually get stuck with two options: run a right-hand bolt awkwardly or pay a premium for a proper southpaw rifle. The Winchester XPR SR Left-Hand fixes that. It's a genuine left-hand action chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor, built around a 20-inch sporter barrel threaded 5/8×24 at the muzzle. That shorter tube is the whole point of the SR (Suppressor Ready) setup. Add a can and the overall length stays close to what a standard 22-inch rifle measures bare, so it still swings well in a blind or a truck cab. Prefer a brake instead? The threads take care of that too.
The barrel starts as solid chromoly bar stock, gets button-rifled with a 1:10 twist, and is thermally stress-relieved before it's free-floated in the stock. Pair that with the inherently efficient 6.5 Creedmoor cartridge and this rifle has no trouble reaching out for deer, antelope, and hogs at distances most hunters will ever need. The M.O.A. Trigger System is the same three-lever design Winchester puts in the Model 70, and it breaks without take-up, creep, or overtravel. It's one of the better factory triggers you'll find in this price range.
The steel receiver and barrel wear a matte black Perma-Cote finish that won't glare in low light or rust up after a wet sit. The bolt is nickel Teflon coated so it cycles slick even when it's dirty, and the bolt unlock button lets you cycle rounds out with the safety still engaged. The synthetic stock carries an Inflex Technology recoil pad, though 6.5 Creedmoor from a 7-pound rifle is already pretty easy on the shoulder. Rounds feed from a detachable single-stack box magazine with 3+1 capacity, and the receiver comes drilled and tapped so mounting a scope is straightforward. No sights are included, so plan on glass from day one.
Yes, this is a dedicated left-hand model, not a right-hand rifle with a swapped stock. The bolt handle and ejection port sit on the left side, so you can cycle the action without breaking your cheek weld or reaching over the receiver. It's one of the few affordable left-hand suppressor-ready bolt guns on the market.
The 20-inch barrel is threaded 5/8×24, which is the standard pattern for most 30 caliber and 6.5mm suppressors and muzzle brakes. A thread protector ships on the muzzle to keep the threads clean when you're running it bare. No suppressor or brake is included.
No sights or rail come in the box. The steel receiver is drilled and tapped, so you'll need to pick up XPR-pattern bases or a one-piece rail before mounting optics. Plan on a scope from the start since this rifle is built for glassed-up hunting and range work.
The shorter barrel offsets the length a suppressor adds, so the rifle stays maneuverable with a can attached. The 6.5 Creedmoor was designed for efficient powder burn and gives up very little velocity going from 22 to 20 inches. You still get plenty of reach for deer-sized game at practical hunting distances.
