The XPR is what happens when Winchester takes lessons learned from the Model 70 and builds a no-nonsense hunting rifle around them. This version is chambered in .350 Legend, the straight-wall cartridge that has taken over deer camps across the Midwest thanks to its mild recoil, affordable ammo, and plenty of punch for whitetail, hogs, and black bear inside 250 yards. The 22 inch chromoly steel barrel is button rifled with a 1:16 twist and fully free-floated, so there are no pressure points stealing accuracy from your groups. Up front you get a recessed target crown to protect the rifling, and the whole works wears a tough, non-reflective matte blued Perma-Cote finish. The bolt uses three front locking lugs with a short 60 degree lift, which keeps your knuckles clear of the scope and makes follow-up shots quick. A nickel Teflon coating on the bolt body keeps it running slick and adds corrosion resistance. The M.O.A. Trigger System is the real standout though, breaking clean with no take-up, no creep, and no overtravel. It is the kind of trigger you usually pay a lot more to get.
