The 24-inch back-bored vent-rib barrel keeps the gun quick to maneuver in a ground blind or against a tree trunk, while the 3.5-inch chamber gives you room to run magnum turkey loads when the situation calls for maximum payload. An Invector-Plus X-Full turkey choke comes in the box, so you can start patterning heavy shot the day you bring it home.
Bead sights are fine for wingshooting, but turkey hunting is precision work. Winchester fitted this SXP with adjustable TruGlo fiber-optic rifle-style sights that glow in low dawn light, which is exactly when most toms come off the roost. If you'd rather run a red dot or scope, the aluminum alloy receiver comes drilled and tapped for optics, so mounting glass is a simple weekend project.
Turkey season means dew, mud, and the occasional downpour, and this gun is finished for it. The bore and chamber are hard chrome-plated for corrosion resistance and easy cleanup, and the bolt wears black chrome instead of traditional bluing for slicker, more reliable cycling. The matte black synthetic stock has textured grip panels that stay planted in your hands even with wet gloves, and the pump action feeds from a 4+1 tube so follow-ups are always there if you need one.

Yes. The aluminum alloy receiver comes drilled and tapped from the factory, so you can add a scope base or optic mount without any gunsmithing. Many turkey hunters run a small red dot on this gun, though the included TruGlo fiber-optic sights are plenty precise on their own for most setups.
It will. The 3.5-inch chamber handles 2.75, 3, and 3.5-inch 12 gauge shells, so you can practice with lighter target loads and step up to magnum turkey loads for the hunt. That flexibility also makes it usable for other game beyond turkey season with the right choke.
It ships with one Invector-Plus X-Full Turkey choke tube, which is designed to throw the tight, dense patterns turkey hunting demands. The barrel uses the Invector-Plus system, so a wide range of other flush and extended chokes are available separately if you want to set it up for waterfowl, upland birds, or clays.
Stout turkey loads kick in any lightweight gun, but Winchester's Inflex recoil pad helps by directing recoil down and away from your cheek to cut felt kick and flinch.
