The Hybrid Hunter concept is simple: the metal gets the tough weatherproof coating and the furniture gets the camo. The chamber and bore are chrome plated, so rain, marsh mud, and dirty field loads clean up easy and corrosion has a hard time getting a foothold. Even the magazine tube is E-coated for extra wear protection. The Inflex recoil pad takes the sting out of heavier 3-inch loads, and in a 20 gauge that already shoots soft, this thing is a pleasure to run all day. A TruGlo fiber optic front sight sits on the ventilated rib and pulls in light when birds are moving at first legal light.
The 28-inch back-bored barrel gives you a smooth swing on crossing birds and cleaner, more even patterns downrange. Winchester includes three Invector-Plus choke tubes, Full, Modified, and Improved Cylinder, so you can set it up for tight turkey-style patterns, all-around field work, or close flushes over dogs. Capacity is 4+1, the crossbolt safety is reversible for left-handed use, and sling swivel studs come standard for the long walks in.

Yes, this model has a 3-inch chamber, so it handles both 2.75-inch and 3-inch 20 gauge shells. That gives you the flexibility to run light target loads at the range and step up to magnum waterfowl or turkey loads when the season calls for it.
It ships with three Invector-Plus choke tubes: Full, Modified, and Improved Cylinder. The Invector-Plus system is widely supported, so aftermarket extended and specialty chokes are easy to find if you want to fine-tune your patterns for turkey, waterfowl, or clays.
That is exactly what the Hybrid Hunter was built for. The gray Perma-Cote metalwork, chrome-lined bore, and E-coated magazine tube shrug off wet marsh conditions, while the 28-inch barrel and lighter 20 gauge frame swing nicely on flushing pheasants and quail. Swap chokes and you are set for either job.
The crossbolt safety is reversible, so it can be switched over for left-handed operation. Ejection is still out the right side of the receiver, but plenty of lefties run the SXP comfortably, and the ambidextrous-friendly safety makes it a practical choice.
