The 24-inch vent rib barrel is back-bored for improved patterns and wears a hard chrome-plated chamber and bore, so cleanup after a wet morning in the dove field is quick and corrosion is kept in check. A 3-inch chamber gives you room for heavier hunting loads when the season calls for it, and the included Invector-Plus flush chokes in Full, Modified, and Improved Cylinder cover everything from close flushing quail to longer passing shots. A brass bead front sight keeps the sight picture simple and fast, the crossbolt safety sits right at the trigger guard where gloved hands can find it, and sling swivel studs come standard for long walks between fields.

It depends on the kid. The SXP Field Youth's Inflex recoil pad does a solid job softening the push, and running light 2-3/4 inch target loads keeps recoil very manageable in a 12 gauge.
