Everything on this gun is built for real hunting conditions. The matte black synthetic stock and forearm shrug off rain, mud, and briars, and the textured grip panels keep your hands planted when things get wet. The non-reflective finish on the barrel and receiver keeps you from flashing sunlight at wary birds. Inside, the chamber and bore are chrome plated for corrosion resistance and easy cleanup, and the back-bored barrel helps throw dense, even patterns. The 3 inch chamber runs everything from light 2-3/4 inch target loads to full-power 3 inch hunting loads, so one gun covers dove season through late-season pheasants.
The included Invector-Plus flush choke set covers most situations you'll run into. Screw in the Improved Cylinder for close flushes over dogs, the Modified for all-around work, or the Full when the shots stretch out. A brass bead up front on the vent rib gives you a clean, simple sight picture, and the Inflex recoil pad takes real bite out of recoil, which already isn't much in a 20 gauge. The crossbolt safety sits right where pump gun fans expect it, and the drop-out trigger group makes cleaning painless.

Yes. The SXP action is built to handle factory steel, tungsten, bismuth, and lead loads, and the chrome-plated bore holds up well to hard non-toxic shot. Just make sure you're using a choke rated for steel, and avoid running steel through the Full choke at tighter constrictions for best results.
It ships with three flush-fit Invector-Plus choke tubes: Full, Modified, and Improved Cylinder, plus a flat choke wrench. That trio covers everything from close flushing birds to longer passing shots. Since it uses the Invector-Plus system, there's a huge aftermarket of extended and specialty chokes if you want to expand later.
It's one of the better picks out there for that. At around 6 pounds 12 ounces with mild 20 gauge recoil and the Inflex pad soaking up what's left, it's comfortable for just about anyone to run. The pump action is simple to operate and maintain, and the 24 inch barrel keeps it quick handling without feeling whippy.
The tubular magazine holds four 2-3/4 inch shells plus one in the chamber for 4+1 total. Running longer 3 inch shells drops magazine capacity by one. A plug can be installed to limit capacity for migratory bird hunting.
