The Wilson Combat Tactical Hunter is an 18-inch fluted stainless barrel cut specifically for the 6mm ARC, and 18 inches happens to be the length this cartridge was designed around. That means you get the velocity to take full advantage of the round's flat-shooting, high-BC bullets without lugging around a heavy 20-inch tube. Wilson button rifles this barrel with a fast 1:7.5 twist, which is what lets it stabilize the heavier 103 to 108 grain match and hunting bullets that make 6mm ARC so capable at distance. For coyotes and varmints the effective range stretches even further. The 18-inch length is widely considered the sweet spot for balancing velocity and handling in this cartridge.
