Description

Weatherby built the Model 307 to be the most open, accessory-friendly platform in their lineup, and the Range XP 2.0 is where that idea really pays off. The action is a 2-lug, fully cylindrical design that plays nice with a huge range of aftermarket 700-pattern parts, so if you ever want to swap stocks, bottom metal, or mounts down the road, you have options. Out of the box, though, there is not much you will feel the need to change. You get a TriggerTech Field trigger that breaks clean with zero creep and adjusts externally down to 2.5 pounds, a bolt that strips down completely tool-free for easy cleaning in the field, and an M16-style extractor for positive, reliable ejection.

Chambered in 6.5 Weatherby RPM for Flat-Shooting Reach

The 6.5 Weatherby RPM is a sweet spot cartridge, pushing high-BC 6.5mm bullets fast enough for genuine long-range work on deer, antelope, and elk without punishing you at the bench. The 24 inch fluted barrel wears a Graphite Black Cerakote finish for serious corrosion resistance, and the factory Accubrake on the muzzle cuts felt recoil dramatically, which makes spotting your own hits a whole lot easier. The threaded muzzle also means you can run a suppressor if that is more your style. Feeding comes from an included 5-round AICS-pattern detachable magazine, giving you 5+1 capacity and easy access to aftermarket mags.

A Range XP 2.0 Stock That Fits You, Not the Other Way Around

The hand-painted synthetic stock features a vertical grip, textured panels at the touch points, and dual front swivel studs for running a sling and bipod together. Better yet, both the cheekpiece and length of pull are adjustable, so you can dial in proper eye alignment behind a scope instead of craning your neck. Every Model 307 carries Weatherby's sub-MOA guarantee, promising 3-shot groups under an inch at 100 yards with quality factory ammo from a cold barrel. Built in Sheridan, Wyoming, this is a rifle set up to earn its keep at the range and in the field.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the Weatherby 307 Range XP 2.0 come with a scope or sights?

No, this rifle ships without sights. The receiver is drilled and tapped so you can set it up with the optic of your choice. Keep in mind that the 307 uses its own mounting pattern, so grab bases or rings made specifically for the Model 307 rather than assuming standard 700 one-piece mounts will fit.

What is 6.5 Weatherby RPM and what is it good for?

The 6.5 Weatherby RPM (Rebated Precision Magnum) is Weatherby's high-performance 6.5mm cartridge, driving heavy, high-BC bullets faster than a 6.5 Creedmoor. It shoots flat with manageable recoil, especially with the factory Accubrake installed. It is a great fit for deer, antelope, and elk at extended distances, plus long-range steel work.

Is the 307 Range XP 2.0 compatible with aftermarket parts and magazines?

Yes, and that is one of its biggest strengths. The Model 307 action accepts many aftermarket 700-pattern stocks, triggers, and bottom metal, making it the most open platform Weatherby offers. The magazine well runs AICS-pattern mags, so spares are easy to find, and one 5-round magazine comes in the box.

How accurate is the Weatherby 307 Range XP 2.0 in 6.5 RPM?

Every Model 307 is backed by Weatherby's sub-MOA guarantee, meaning a 3-shot group of .99 inch or less at 100 yards from a cold barrel with Weatherby factory or premium ammo. Owners regularly report groups in the half-MOA range with loads their rifle likes. The zero-creep TriggerTech trigger and adjustable stock make it easier to shoot up to that potential.
