The Walther PDP Pro Full-Size 4.5" is shipped with an Aimpoint ACRO P-2 already installed on a slide that was direct-milled from the factory for that exact footprint. No adapter plate, no stack height, no guesswork. The optic sits lower over the bore than most plate-based setups, which makes co-witnessing with the included tritium backup sights clean and practical.
The Pro designation isn't just a name change. This model comes with Walther's Dynamic Performance Trigger, the flat-faced version with a skeletonized safety block, known for its crisp break and short reset. The magwell is flared aluminum rather than polymer, designed to speed up reloads and give the base of the grip a more stable feel in the hand. The slide also features Walther's SuperTerrain serrations, which are raised and protruding rather than cut into the slide, giving you a more positive grip purchase during press-checks or manipulations under stress. Walther also built deliberate red-dot ergonomics into the frame itself, with a pinky-pressure bump at the base of the grip that naturally angles the muzzle down and helps new dot users find the dot faster on the draw.
The ACRO P-2 is not a budget red dot included to pad the package. It is one of the most respected enclosed-emitter pistol optics available, widely approved across law enforcement agencies. The fully enclosed optical channel protects the LED emitter from debris, rain, and mud in a way open-emitter optics cannot. It runs on a single CR2032 battery with up to 50,000 hours of continuous use, offers 10 brightness settings including four night-vision-compatible levels, and is submersible to 35 meters. It has been tested to withstand the sustained shock of over 20,000 rounds fired on a pistol slide. That is a real optic with a real pedigree, not a throw-in.

Yes, the ACRO P-2 is pre-installed at the factory and ready to zero right out of the box. The slide on the PDP Pro is direct-milled specifically for the ACRO footprint, meaning there is no adapter plate involved. This keeps the optic lower over the bore than most plate-based setups.
The Pro series adds several meaningful upgrades over a base PDP. You get the flat-faced Dynamic Performance Trigger instead of the standard curved Performance Duty Trigger, a flared aluminum magwell for faster reloads, and on this ACRO model, a factory-direct-milled slide with the Aimpoint ACRO P-2 and tritium backup sights included. The standard PDP uses a universal optic plate system and does not include an optic.
The Pro series uses 18-round PDP magazines with compatible square baseplates designed for the flared aluminum magwell. Standard PDP magazines with the classic polymer U-shaped base may not fully seat with the magwell installed. The good news is the magwell is removable with a simple pin push if you prefer to run standard mags.
