The UXR Elite takes everything they've learned and throws the rulebook out. This isn't just another AR-pattern rifle with a different logo. The UXR is a ground-up redesign built around the idea of a single serialized platform that you can reconfigure for multiple calibers and barrel lengths without buying a second rifle.
The 300 Blackout version ships with a 14.5-inch barrel that's pinned and welded to a 16-inch overall length, made in-house from 41V50 chrome-moly-vanadium steel and lined for durability. The 1:6 twist rate is optimized for 300 BLK, handling both supersonic and subsonic loads well. Out front, the PWS FRC compensator handles recoil reduction and muzzle rise while also doubling as a suppressor mounting interface compatible with the Rearden Atlas system. The FRC is removable when you want to run a can directly.
The heart of the UXR is the Xchange system. By swapping just the barrel, bolt head, and magazine well, you can move this platform between calibers ranging from 223 Wylde and 308 Win to 7.62×39 and 8.6 Blackout, among others. The titanium barrel trunnion clamps the barrel in place with three screws and returns to zero within 0.5 MOA when re-torqued to spec. The modified long-stroke piston system, combined with a bore evacuator built into the barrel, keeps excess gas directed forward and away from the shooter rather than back into the action. That makes a meaningful difference during suppressed shooting or extended strings of fire.
Everything about the UXR is built for both hands. The safety selector, magazine release, bolt catch, and charging handle are all fully ambidextrous. The non-reciprocating forward charging handle folds flat when not in use and swaps sides without tools. The folding stock attaches via Picatinny rail to the trigger housing, can be configured to fold left or right, and includes a cheek riser and length-of-pull adjustment. The TriggerTech single-stage trigger adjusts from 2.5 to 5 pounds and is one of the better factory triggers you'll find at any price. The M-LOK handguard gives you attachment points at multiple positions and can be swapped for shorter versions depending on barrel configuration. PWS backs all of this with their VOW warranty, covering repair or replacement for any defect.
The UXR is a completely original design, not an AR-15 variant. The serialized component is the upper receiver, the stock folds via a Picatinny rail on the trigger housing, and the barrel is clamped in place by a titanium trunnion rather than a traditional barrel nut. The modified long-stroke piston system also incorporates a bore evacuator in the barrel that draws residual gas forward and out the muzzle rather than back into the action, which is especially useful during suppressed fire.
Yes, that is the whole point of the Xchange system. By swapping the barrel, bolt head, and magazine well, you can run the same serialized upper in calibers including 223 Wylde, 308 Win, 7.62×39, 6.5 Creedmoor, 6mm ARC, and 8.6 Blackout, among others. Conversion kits are sold separately and the parts are color-coded by a dot system so it's hard to mix things up.
300 Blackout was practically designed with suppressors in mind, and the UXR's piston system makes it a particularly clean combination. The three-position adjustable gas block includes a dedicated suppressor setting, and the bore evacuator helps minimize blowback into the action and the shooter's face. The PWS FRC compensator is also compatible with the Rearden Atlas suppressor mounting system, so getting a can on it is straightforward.
It was built with that in mind from the start. The safety selector, magazine release, bolt catch, and bolt release are all mirrored on both sides of the rifle. The forward charging handle is non-reciprocating, folds flat when not in use, and can be mounted on either side without tools. The folding stock can also be configured to fold to the left or right side depending on your preference.
