The TTI Firepower basepad is built for shooters who want more ammo downrange without swapping magazines. What makes this different from cheaper options is how it actually works. TTI's patented push-pin design means you push the pin down, slide the basepad on, and push it back up to lock. No tools needed, no fumbling. You can strip it for cleaning between stages without losing parts or spending five minutes fiddling with it. The aluminum construction adds just enough weight to help your mags drop free faster during reloads, which matters when you're running stages or training hard.
Every bit of this basepad is made in the USA. The aluminum is hard anodized for durability and the pin set screws come pre-set with Loctite at the right tension so you rarely need to adjust anything. The +4/+5 model includes a 10% stronger spring to handle the extra rounds reliably. Overall weight sits at about 0.8 ounces and the front extends 1 1/2 inches while the back is 3/4 inch, which fits the USPSA 140mm gauge for competition use. The fit is tight on Glock OEM magazines for the compact models only, so make sure you're running G19 or G23 mags.
Installation takes seconds once you understand the pin system. Remove the metal insert at the bottom of your magazine before sliding the basepad on. This specific model only works with compact OEM Glock 19 and Glock 23 magazines in 9mm and .40 caliber. It will not work with full-size G17/G22 mags, subcompact G26/G27 mags, early generation mags with u-notch feed lips, or 10-round magazines. Make sure you have the right magazine before purchasing.
No specialty tools are required for installation or removal. You simply push down the pin, slide the basepad onto the magazine, and push the pin back up to lock it. The one-piece design means there are no extra parts to lose. The pin set screws come pre-tensioned with Loctite and generally won't need adjustment.
The +4/+5 Firepower is designed for capacity and includes a 10% stronger spring to reliably feed those extra rounds. It gives you 5 additional 9mm rounds or 4 additional .40 rounds. TTI also offers +2/+3 models for those who want a lower-profile option, and +0 basepads that just improve the magazine base without adding capacity.
The kit includes a stronger spring designed to handle the extra capacity, so using the original Glock spring is not recommended for reliable feeding with all the extra rounds. The stronger spring is tuned specifically for the +4/+5 extension and should be used as supplied.
