Trijicon built the HD Night Sight Set around one idea: your eye should snap to the front sight without you having to think about it. That oversized orange-outlined front blade does exactly that. In daylight the photoluminescent ring pulls your focus straight to the aiming point, and when the sun drops the green tritium lamp takes over so you keep a clear reference in low light or no light at all. The rear sight stays blacked out with a wide U-shaped notch, which keeps your attention where it belongs and makes lining up fast and natural.
This is a three-dot configuration with a single green front dot and two green rear dots. All three run on tritium, so there are no switches or batteries to fuss with. The rear sight has a steeply hooked forward face that gives you something to catch on a belt, holster edge, or boot heel if you ever need to rack the slide one-handed. It's a small detail that matters when your hands are full. Trijicon protects those tritium lamps well too, sealing each one inside an aluminum cylinder with silicone rubber cushioning and a sapphire cap that spreads the glow evenly and shrugs off cleaning solvents.
The SA137O set is cut for Smith & Wesson M&P, M&P M2.0, SD9 VE, and SD40 VE pistols. It does not fit the M&P Shield or C.O.R.E. models, so double-check your slide before ordering. The front blade sits taller than a stock M&P sight, so keep in mind you may want to confirm your zero after install. Both sights press into the factory dovetails, and Trijicon recommends professional installation with a sight pusher to seat them cleanly without marring anything.
Steel-housed and tritium-lit, this set is the kind of upgrade that outlasts a lot of the pistols it goes on. The green tritium lamps carry a 12-year illumination warranty from the date of manufacture, which is why so many carry and duty shooters trust the HD line for real-world use.
No. The SA137O set is made for the full-size and compact S&W M&P, M&P M2.0, SD9 VE, and SD40 VE pistols. The M&P Shield and C.O.R.E. models use a different sight cut, so you'll want a set specifically listed for those.
Not at all. The green tritium lamps glow on their own and require no batteries or charging. The orange front paint also soaks up ambient light to stay visible during daytime and transitional lighting.
Trijicon recommends professional installation with a proper sight pusher tool. The sights press into the factory dovetails, and doing it without the right equipment risks damaging the sights or your slide. Most gunsmiths can knock this out quickly.
The green tritium lamps are warranted for 12 years from the date of manufacture. They'll gradually dim over that span, but the photoluminescent orange front ring keeps the front sight easy to pick up regardless.
