The Trijicon DI system was built around one clever idea: a front sight you can service yourself. This retainer pack keeps that promise going by giving you replacement threaded retainers in a clean white finish, along with the exact tool you need to install them. It's a straightforward way to bring a tired or damaged retainer ring back to life without sending your sights off to a gunsmith.
The threaded retainer on a DI front sight is what holds the fiber in place and frames your aiming point with a colored outline. Over time, or if you're swapping fibers, that retainer can take a beating. This white pack gives you two fresh steel retainers so you can restore a crisp white ring around the front dot, which many folks find helps them pick up the sight faster in daylight. The white also plays nicely against darker backdrops and is a popular pick for a clean, no-nonsense front sight picture.
Everything installs with the included T10 torque L-key. You back out the old retainer, seat your fiber against the back shelf, then thread the new retainer clockwise until it's hand-tight. No press, no armorer trip, no fuss. The DI platform was designed to fit a wide range of popular carry and duty pistols, including many Glock, Sig Sauer, Smith & Wesson, and Springfield Armory models, so if you're running DI Night Sights, these retainers are made to work with your setup.
Behind that retainer, the DI front sight still does the heavy lifting with its fiber optic for daylight brightness and a tritium lamp for aiming in total darkness. This pack simply lets you keep the front end looking sharp and functioning the way Trijicon intended. It's a smart accessory to keep on hand if you like tailoring your sight color or want a spare ready before you ever need it.
The pack includes two white DI threaded retainers and one T10 torque L-key for installation. It's a retainer-only pack, so it does not come with replacement fibers. If you need fresh fibers too, Trijicon offers separate DI fiber replacement packs.
Yes, these are made for Trijicon DI Night Sight systems across the applicable platforms they're offered for. The DI line was designed to fit many popular pistols, including various Glock, Sig Sauer, Smith & Wesson, and Springfield Armory models. As long as you're running DI Night Sights, this pack is built to work with them.
Use the included T10 torque L-key to back out the existing retainer, seat your fiber against the back shelf of the sight, then thread the new white retainer clockwise until it's hand-tight. The whole point of the DI design is that this can be done in the field without special press tools. It's a quick job once you've done it a time or two.
The retainer color sets the outline framing your front sight, and white gives you a clean, high-contrast ring that many find easy to pick up in daylight. It's a matter of personal preference and how your eyes track the front sight. Trijicon offers orange, yellow, and multicolor options too if you want to experiment.
