Yes, the 3 inch chamber handles both 2 3/4 and 3 inch 12 gauge loads. Like most gas-operated mag-fed shotguns, it tends to run most reliably with quality loads in the 1 to 1 1/8 ounce range or heavier. Give it a short break-in period with full-power ammo and it settles in nicely.
Absolutely. The receiver wears a full-length M1913 Picatinny rail, so any standard red dot or optic mount clamps right on. The included polymer flip-up sights fold flat when not in use, and they also work fine as backups if you co-witness or want irons ready if your optic goes down.
The ejection port sits on the right side, so it is set up primarily for right-handed operation. The good news is the safety and mag release follow the familiar AR-15 pattern, which keeps the controls intuitive either way. Left-handed folks do run these, but righties will find it most natural.
