The PX-9 Carry Comp is Tisas's answer to the growing demand for compensated carry pistols, and it brings a seriously impressive feature set to a compact 9mm frame. Built on the PX-9 2.0 platform and imported by SDS Arms, this striker-fired pistol pairs a 3.5-inch match-grade barrel with a single-port integrated compensator that vents gas upward to keep the muzzle flat on follow-up shots. The slide is factory milled to accept RMR-footprint optics, the internal components are NATO-spec nickel-coated, and the barrel and slide wear a QPQ Tenifer finish for corrosion resistance and durability. At 6.7 inches overall and just about 25 ounces unloaded, it sits in a comfortable carry-size footprint.
The aluminum flat-faced trigger is one of the highlights of this pistol. It breaks cleanly at around 4 pounds with a short reset that makes fast, controlled follow-up shots come naturally, especially paired with the comp keeping muzzle rise in check. The slide has aggressive front and rear serrations for a solid grip during manipulations, and both a loaded chamber indicator and striker status indicator are built into the design. The PX-9 Carry Comp also features a polymer flared magwell for faster reloads under pressure, and the undercut trigger guard lets you ride the gun high for better recoil management.
One of the things that surprises people about this gun is how well it fits a wide range of hands. Interchangeable grip panels and backstraps give you up to 27 different grip configurations, which is something you normally don't see without spending considerably more. The compensator is a single port machined into both the barrel and slide near the muzzle. When a round is fired, propellant gas vents upward through that port, which pushes the muzzle down and reduces felt muzzle rise. The practical result is faster, flatter follow-up shots compared to a non-compensated pistol of the same size.
At 6.7 inches overall and 25 ounces unloaded, it sits in classic compact carry territory, similar in footprint to other compact double-stack 9mms.
