The Tisas 1911 Duty takes the classic Government-size .45 ACP and loads it up with the features most people end up adding aftermarket anyway. You get a forged carbon steel frame and slide, a 5.5-inch cold hammer forged threaded barrel, an optic-ready slide, and a full Picatinny rail up front. It runs Colt Series 70 style internals, so anyone who knows their way around a 1911 will feel right at home with the controls and the single-action trigger.
The threaded barrel uses a common .578×28 thread pitch, which means a suppressor or muzzle device goes on without a trip to the gunsmith. Since most .45 ACP loads run subsonic on their own, this is one of the easier platforms to shoot quiet. The slide is cut for RMSc and Holosun K footprint micro red dots, so you can run irons, a dot, or both. The Novak-style three-dot sights handle the iron sighting duties and give you a clean, fast picture.
The whole gun wears a Flat Dark Earth Cerakote finish over the frame and slide, with textured G10 grips that lock into your hand. Front and rear slide serrations make manipulations easy, and the beavertail grip safety, skeletonized hammer, and ambidextrous thumb safety round out the enhanced control package. The undercut trigger guard lets you ride high for better recoil control on that full-size .45 frame.
Tisas has built a strong reputation for putting out 1911s that punch well above their price, and the Duty is a good example. It ships in a lockable hard case with two 8-round magazines, so you have everything you need to get to the range the same day. Whether you want a suppressor host, a nightstand gun, or a range blaster with room to add a dot and a light, this one covers a lot of ground.
The threaded barrel on this .45 ACP model uses the industry-standard .578×28 TPI. That covers most .45-rated suppressors and muzzle devices without any extra machining. Since .45 ACP tends to run subsonic already, it makes for a very easy suppressor host.
The slide is cut for the RMSc and Holosun K micro red dot footprint, which includes popular optics like the Holosun 507K and 407K along with RMSc-pattern sights. You can mount a dot directly to the slide cut. The Novak-style irons also stay in place so you have a backup sighting option.
This is a traditional single-stack 1911 chambered in .45 ACP with an 8+1 capacity, not a double-stack 2011. It uses Colt Series 70 style internals, so the controls and takedown will feel familiar to any 1911 owner. Tisas does offer a separate double-stack DS line if higher capacity is what you're after.
It ships with two 8-round magazines in a lockable hard case, along with a cleaning kit and owner's manual. That's enough to head straight to the range the day you pick it up. Standard Government-size 1911 .45 ACP magazines will also work if you want spares.
