A semi-auto .22 Magnum AR that runs like it should is a rare thing. Tippmann Arms took a different approach with the M4-22 Magnum Elite, building it from the ground up as a purpose-built .22 WMR rather than a stretched .22 LR conversion, and the result is a magnum rimfire that cycles reliably across different loads and shoots tighter than most people expect from a semi-auto in this caliber.
Both the upper and lower receivers are machined aluminum, not polymer, and every control you would expect is present and functional. Working charging handle, bolt catch, forward assist, shell deflector, dust cover, the whole deal. The buffer tube, buffer, and spring setup mirrors a centerfire AR, so the recoil impulse and handling feel right at home if you already run an AR-15. It is largely mil-spec compatible too, so most AR stocks, grips, and handguards drop right on, and the mil-spec fire control group accepts aftermarket drop-in triggers if you ever want to upgrade past the crisp 4.5 pound factory pull.
The 16 inch 4150 solid steel barrel wears a 1/2×28 threaded muzzle with an A2 birdcage, and the 12 inch free float aluminum M-LOK handguard gives you plenty of room for lights, bipods, or a hand stop. Flip-up front and rear sights come installed, with a full length Picatinny top rail ready for a red dot or scope.
