Cleaning a Glock on a bare bench or a folded towel gets old fast, especially when a detent spring goes flying or oil soaks into the wood. The TekMat Glock Gen 3 Cleaning Mat in Flat Dark Earth solves that with a purpose-built surface sized for the job. At 11 by 17 inches, it gives you enough room to fully break down your pistol and still keep your punch, brushes, and solvent within reach instead of scattered across the table.
The top layer is a soft thermoplastic fiber that won't scratch your slide or frame, and it shrugs off gun oil, solvent, and grime. Because the artwork is applied with dye-sublimation printing, the ink is baked into the fibers rather than screened on top, so the diagram and colors hold up wash after wash. Underneath, a 1/8-inch vulcanized rubber backing adds cushion, keeps the mat planted so it doesn't slide mid-job, and stops chemicals from bleeding through to your bench or kitchen table.
What sets this mat apart from a generic pad is the printed content. It lays out an exploded parts diagram of the Gen 3 platform along with a rundown of the model's history, so you can strip it down and put it back together without hunting for the owner's manual. That reference is genuinely useful when you're swapping a connector, trigger spring, or recoil assembly and want to confirm exactly where each piece belongs.
When you're done, the mat rolls up and tucks away with the rest of your cleaning gear. The Flat Dark Earth finish looks sharp and hides the inevitable smudges better than a light background, making it a practical pick whether it lives on a dedicated reloading bench or comes out only on cleaning day. TekMat built the original schematic cleaning mat, and this one carries that same attention to materials and print quality.
Yes. The 11×17 size gives you plenty of room for the full range of Gen 3 pistols, from the compact 26 up to the full-size 17 and 34. Even fully disassembled, you'll have space left over for your tools and solvent.
It is. The thermoplastic fiber top resists gun oil, solvents, and water, so spills sit on the surface instead of soaking through. When you're finished, just wipe it down or wash it with mild soap and water.
Not easily. TekMat uses a dye-sublimation process that embeds the ink into the fibers rather than screen-printing on top, so the diagram holds up to repeated cleaning and scrubbing. That's a big reason these mats stay legible for years.
It does. The 1/8-inch vulcanized rubber backing grips your bench so the mat doesn't shift around while you're pushing pins or running a bore brush. That same backing also cushions your firearm and blocks chemicals from reaching your work surface.
