Description

Taurus took its award-winning Raging Hunter platform, the same line that earned the 2019 American Hunter Handgun of the Year Golden Bullseye, and chambered it in .350 Legend. That is a big deal for hunters in straight-wall country. If you already run a .350 Legend rifle, this revolver eats the same ammo, which simplifies your loadout and gives you a close-range option when a long gun feels like overkill. The 14 inch barrel wrings out as much velocity as you can get from a wheelgun, and it is only a couple inches shorter than some .350 Legend carbine barrels.

What Makes the 350 Legend Raging Hunter Different

Because the .350 Legend is a rimless rifle cartridge, this revolver runs on full-moon clips, and Taurus includes five of them. Load your clips ahead of time and you can drop all six rounds in or out at once, which makes reloads quick if you are working a hog field or just burning through a range session. The stainless barrel threads into the frame under a pinned shroud with Picatinny rail sections top and bottom, so you can mount a handgun scope or red dot up top and a bipod underneath. A multi-port muzzle brake and factory porting keep the muzzle flat, and the cushioned rubber grip soaks up what recoil is left. Frankly, .350 Legend is downright pleasant out of a gun this size.

Built to Hunt, Not Just Look the Part

The six-round non-fluted cylinder adds mass right where you want it, and the front and rear dual lockup keeps everything tight shot after shot. You get a bright fiber optic front sight paired with a fully adjustable fiber optic rear, plus a smooth double action trigger with the option to cock the hammer for a crisp single action press when a buck steps out. The all matte black finish stays subdued in the field. Inside 75 yards or so, this thing carries plenty of punch for whitetail and hogs, and it is a whole lot easier to pack into a stand than a rifle.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does the Raging Hunter 350 Legend use moon clips?

The .350 Legend is a rimless rifle cartridge, so there is no rim for the revolver's extractor to grab. Full-moon clips solve that by holding all six rounds together for loading and ejection. Taurus includes five clips with the gun, and once you get used to them, loading and unloading is faster than a traditional wheelgun.

Can I shoot the same .350 Legend ammo I use in my rifle?

Yes, and that is one of the biggest draws of this revolver. It runs standard .350 Legend factory loads, so it makes a natural companion to a .350 Legend rifle. You will lose some velocity compared to a rifle-length barrel, but the 14 inch tube keeps that loss to a minimum and delivers plenty of energy for deer and hogs at practical handgun hunting distances.

How bad is the recoil on the 14 inch Raging Hunter in .350 Legend?

It is surprisingly manageable. Between the gun's heft, the factory barrel porting, the multi-port muzzle brake, and the cushioned rubber grip, felt recoil is mild compared to big-bore magnums like .454 Casull or .460 S&W. The muzzle blast is loud, so double up on hearing protection, but the gun itself stays flat and comfortable.

Can I mount a scope or red dot on this revolver?

Absolutely. The barrel shroud has a Picatinny rail section machined into the top for a handgun scope or red dot, and there is a second rail on the bottom for a bipod or tripod adapter. You can mount an optic without removing the rear sight assembly, so your fiber optic irons stay put as a backup.
