No, this model is chambered specifically for .22 WMR (also called .22 Magnum) and should only be fed that cartridge. The two rounds have different case dimensions, so .22 LR won't chamber or fire safely in this cylinder. If you want the cheaper rimfire round, Taurus makes a separate 942 chambered in .22 LR.
It's a solid fit for that role.
