The Tactical Solutions X-Ring VR Gen2 takes the familiar 10/22 platform and rebuilds it from the ground up with premium parts. At the heart of it is the signature X-Ring barrel, a .920" bull profile aluminum sleeve wrapped around a chromoly steel bore, hand-chambered in .22 LR with an 11-degree target crown to squeeze every bit of accuracy out of the little rimfire round. The 16.5" muzzle comes threaded 1/2×28, so adding a can or a muzzle device is as simple as twisting it on. Dressed in M81 Woodland camo on a Magpul X-22 Hunter stock, this one looks right at home in the field.
The Gen2 receiver is milled from hard-anodized 6061-T6 aluminum and built fully ambidextrous, letting you move the charging handle to the left or right side to match how you shoot. It uses a modular Picatinny rail system and ships with a 10 MOA optic rail already installed, which gives you a head start on reaching out at distance while leaving room to swap in a different taper down the road. A stainless steel bolt with top flutes helps channel fouling away from the action, and the dual guide rod setup keeps cycling smooth and consistent through long range sessions.
This is a genuinely light rifle, hovering right around the 4.3 to 4.8 pound range depending on how it's set up, so it carries easy on a long walk and points fast when a squirrel pops up. A rear cleaning port lets you run a rod through the action without pulling the barrel, which anyone who's wrestled a 10/22 apart for cleaning will appreciate. It feeds the same standard 10-round rotary magazines as the Ruger 10/22, so spare mags are easy to come by.
Between the hunting-friendly camo, the suppressor-ready barrel, and the accuracy this platform is known for, the X-Ring VR Gen2 works just as well punching paper and ringing steel as it does chasing small game.
Yes. The 16.5" barrel comes threaded 1/2×28 at the muzzle, which is the standard rimfire thread pitch. That means you can twist on a .22 suppressor or a muzzle device without any extra machining or adapters.
It does. The X-Ring VR Gen2 feeds the same standard 10-round rotary magazines used by the Ruger 10/22, so finding spare magazines and higher capacity options is easy. It ships with one 10-round magazine.
Yes. The Gen2 receiver has a modular Picatinny rail system and ships with a 10 MOA optic rail already installed, so you can mount a scope or red dot right away. The modular design also lets you swap in a different rail taper later if your setup changes.
The Gen2 receiver is built to be fully ambidextrous, so the charging handle can be moved to the left or right side to suit how you shoot. The Magpul X-22 Hunter stock also works well for right or left-handed use.
