Unlike a muzzle brake that vents gas out to the sides and ramps up the concussion for everyone nearby, this linear comp funnels everything straight downrange. TacFire machines this one from stainless steel with a 2.05" overall length and a slim 0.87" outside diameter, so it stays low profile and doesn't add a bunch of bulk to your muzzle. It uses the 1/2"-36 thread pattern, which is the common pitch for 9mm barrels, so make sure your barrel is cut for 1/2"-36 and not the 1/2"-28 you'd see on a 5.56 rig. The stainless construction holds up well against the heat and residue that come with sustained shooting.
Installation is about as easy as muzzle devices get. Thread it on, snug it down, and you're set. It's a solid pick if you want to take the harsh edge off an AR-platform 9mm without spending big or dealing with a complicated setup.
It's cut for 1/2"-36 TPI, which is the standard pitch on most 9mm barrels. Double check your barrel's threading before ordering, since the 1/2"-28 pattern used on 5.56 barrels won't fit this one. If your 9mm barrel is threaded 1/2"-36, you're good to go.

These work best on short barrels and AR pistols, where unburnt powder and muzzle blast are at their worst. You can run one on a longer barrel, but you'll notice the biggest difference on a stubby 9mm setup. That's really the sweet spot for this kind of device.
